Instructions
Although children learn new languages wonderfully quickly, it is great to be able to use even basic words in their own language to help them along – and it can be fun and a great learning experience for other children too.
The useful words in this section have been written PHONETICALLY in English to sound as similar as possible to their mother tongue. The idea is to read it as an English word that it ‘most sounds like’.
Warning – it is often very difficult to write a word in another language – there may be pronunciation differences and there are different dialects too. If possible, ask a parent of the child and edit the words if necessary!
